RE: Freaking out about which brand to go with

We looked long and hard at MHs before buying. I liked the floorplan of the Hurricane with bunks but they did not seem as weel built to me. I liked all the Winnebago, Fleetwood and Tiffin Alegros. Hard to go wrong with those.

RE: Valve extension problem

I had a similar problem. removed the extension and the seal had come loose and blocked the airway. cleared and worked fine. I also replaced the braided lines with solid extensions available at tire stores or Camping World. I had a braided line leak and deflate a tire.

RE: 30 amp question

I agree with FrankReno. powersolutions.com. Installe a unit on my first coach. taps into the second genset circuit and provides you a way to plug in an additional 20a cord. simple install, great instructions. I am currently installing on my newer 2005 rig now for summer.

RE: Costco Batteries

I had reservations but also bought COSTCO batteries. 2 12V Deep cycle in house and standard start for chassis. Had to take the chassis battery back but no questions asked received replacement. I have had them 3 years and no other issues.

RE: Air Ride Suspension -- ???

I had trouble with my Jetco system a while back on a 1988 Winnebago Superchief. I called jectco, (looked them up on the web www.jetcompany.com)called and spoke to a technical rep. He explained the entire system, recommended solution he spent 30 minutes going through the system and how to test it :E. I took it to a truck shop and they fixed it for $80 labor. Mine was just leaking petcocks. Very simple system and durable. Don't replace it. It just rides too nice. Good luck.:)

Windshield Wiper Upgrade

Has anyone ever replaced the standard auto style wipers which sweep an arc with the truck style that sweep back and forth? Of course my MOHO came with the auto style and sweeps a very small portion of the windshield. Suggestions are welcome except buy new rig! LOL.

I have has the same issue with my monitor, not sony. I suspect the camera is getting wet, and shorting the signal. I have not investigated as yet. If I find something I will post.

RE: ceiling material drooping....

I have used Heads-UP spray headliner glue. Pep-boys 9.99/Kragan7.99 sell it. Best contact adhesive for headliners IMHO.

RE: Dometic refer door panel replacement-have you done it?

I have found door skins at Home Depot to be the most cost effective wood panel at 1/8". finish as you like and they look great. sold 3' x 7' but well priced compared to other panels.

RE: 5500watt Onan in 30 Amp coach

I'm researching a SurgeGuard and while the 30Amp version is set to protect up to 3600watts my genny is 5500watts. What am I missing? I can't see Itasca "throwing in" an overspec'd genny without a reason? btw, my coach is a 30 amp coach. What you're missing is the fact that only 3600 watts (30 amps) of generator power goes to you circuit breaker panel. The rest goes through a 20 amp breaker to your 2nd AC. The 30 amp SurgeGuard will work just fine for your application. This is dead on...I added a power adapter to tap the second 20 amp circuit...just adds a second cord to plug into shore power. not the same as 50 amps but does the trick.

RE: Help me decide on Bunk Bed model

We looked at all of them. It really does depend on your price range. The Hurricane was a nice coach with some upgrades and some down grades. The Allegro by tiffin was superior along with the Winnebago but they are more $$$. we went used and I now wish we had stretched a little more and gotten the bunks. Happy hunting...looking is always fun!

RE: shifting out of park

I have a 2005 W22 chassis. I found in the manual and also in practice that you set the parking break first then set the shifter to park. The parking pawl can stick if the vehicle weight pulls on it making it tough to disengage. let the brake carry the weight even if on only slightly uneven ground.
